Turkey is placed on the area among Europe,Asia and Africa.Turkey is a middle

latituded country so the climate shows varieties.There are seven reigons in Turkey and  five

different climate type.

The climate is warm and humid in coastal regions because of sea influance.Central

regions are sealed from the sea and they show chracteristic specilities of

continental climate.

The Mediterranean and Aegean coastal regions up to an altitude of 800 m

inland are characterized by the  Mediterranean climate.In this type of climate

the summers are hot and dry,the winters are humid and rainy.There is about

1000 mm volume of rainfall in some areas.Snowfall and freezing point are

rare in general except from mountains. ,

The northern regions of Turkey has a different type of climate called

“Black Sea climate”.Especially the mountain ridges facing the sea.Summers

are a bit cooler than Mediterranean climate,winters are colder than south.

Sometimes there is frost and snow,general character of black sea regions

heavy rainfall in winters.Black sea region the most rainy area of Turkey with

its province Rize having a rainfall abut 2200mm rainfall.

Continental climate type is seen in Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia the places distant from sea and surrounded by

mountains.Temparature changes between day and night also summer and

winter are very sharp.Winters are rather cold and long with haevay snowfalls

and frosts.
